Hudson Valley Hot-Air Balloon Festival

Friday, September 2nd – Sunday, September 4th

It is time to go up, up, and away at the 31st Hudson Valley Hot-Air Balloon Festival! At Tymor Park in Union Vale, there will be hot-air balloon flights, tethered hot-air balloon rides and helicopter rides. Don’t like heights? There going to be live music and entertainment, food trucks, vendors, a Trackless Train Ride, and family activities like cornhole, Giant Jenga, Giant Chess, Can Jam, and more! Plus, a Laser Light Show each evening!

Railroader for a Day

Saturday, September 3rd 10:00am-4:00pm

Operation Toy Train, the Dining Car Society, and the Tri-States Railway Preservation Society are teaming up for a “Volunteer Job Fair” at the historic Erie railyard! Volunteers from all three organizations will be working on various projects throughout the yard, and participants from the general public can jump in and become a “Railroader for a Day!” If you wanted to learn about the inner workings and maintenance of a train, as well as working in their kitchen, this will be a cool experience. It’s free to attend, and lunch will be provided!

5th Annual Fair Oaks Frightfest

Saturday, September 3rd 7:00pm

Ready for some end of summertime scares? The Fair Oaks Drive-In Theater invites you to Frightfest! There will be scary movies all night, like “Cujo,” “The Howling,” and “Candyman,” along with some special guests! It’s $69 per carload (4 person limit).

Civil War Reenactment

Sunday, September 4th 10:00am-4:00pm

Head over to Museum Village in Monroe for a Civil War Reenactment! You can witness standard Civil War tactics and troop movements as the two armies meet in battle, as well as talk to troops and civilians and shop at period-style vendors! It’s $17 for adults, $14 for seniors and $12 for kids ages 4-12.
