Amateur Radio “Field Day”
June 24, 2023 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Amateur Radio “Field Day” – June 24 and 25 – Will Focus on Skill, Service, Science
The members of the Orange County Amateur Radio Club will be participating in the national amateur radio Field Day exercise, in June starting about 2PM Saturday June 24th through noon Sunday June 25th at Thomas Bull Memorial Park, in Montgomery NY.
Field Day is a showcase for how amateur radio works reliably under any conditions from almost any location to create an independent communications network. And since 1933, ham radio operators across North America have established these temporary ham radio stations in public locations this time of year to demonstrate the science and skill of amateur radio.
Anyone may become a licensed amateur radio operator and there are more than 750,000 licensed hams in the United States, as young as 9 and as old as 100. Exams for license up grades and new licenses will be given on Saturday at 10 am.
The event is open to the public and all are encouraged to attend and learn about Amateur radio.
