Friendly Visitor Volunteer Training
Become a Friendly Visitor Volunteer in your town with the Jewish Family Service of Orange County. This 90 minute virtual training prepares potential volunteers to provide support to older adults in your own communities. For about 3 hours a week or less, volunteers provide local transportation to essential appointments, grocery shopping and social distancing appropriate telephone check in friendly visits. In the program "Tannery Hides and the Beaverkill Bridge", Town of Rockland Historian Dr. Joyce Conroy will tell the story of how one hundred year old tanned hides were found in the Beaverkill Bridge in Roscoe, Sullivan County.
