
The Friends of Middletown Thrall Library, Inc. present: The Life and Times of Moses Stivers

On Sunday, March 9, 2025, at 1:30 p.m., the Friends of Middletown Thrall Library will host a program on The Life and Times of Moses Stivers in the second floor Community Room of the Library, 11-19 Depot Street in Middletown.
Moses Stivers lived most of his life in Middletown. He was a teacher, druggist, abolitionist and aide to General Van Wyck during the Civil War. He met President Lincoln on the battlefield and in the White House. Stivers was also a newspaper publisher of what would eventually become the Times Herald-Record. He later became a United States Congressman.
Join us for this fascinating historical perspective of one of Orange County’s own. The program will be held in the 2nd floor Community Room of the Library. The program is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
